Information Services Group (ISG), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm, has officially published the results from its latest research, where it assessed all the tools that companies can access in their pursuit of modernizing revenue management.
Going by the available details, this particular research brings forth rankings and ratings of 42 software providers and their products in the context of supporting revenue process needs, including configure price quote (CPQ), contract lifecycle management (CLM), revenue recognition, billing, and the platforms.
More on the same would reveal how 2025 Buyers Guides™ for Revenue Lifecycle Management saw ISG studying software providers across six platform categories i.e. Revenue Lifecycle Management; Revenue Lifecycle Platforms; Revenue Recognition; Contract Lifecycle Management; Configure, Price, Quote; and Billing.
In total, the company evaluated 42 different providers, including Aptitude, Aria Systems, BillingPlatform, Certinia, Chargebee, Conga, ContractPodAi, DealHub, Docusign, Epicor, Experlogix, FastSpring, GleanQuote, Gotransverse, Icertis, Ironclad, LawVu, LinkSquares, Logik.ai, Malbek, Maxio, NetSuite, Oracle, PandaDoc, Paperless Parts, Pricefx, PROS, Recurly, RecVue, Sage, Salesforce, SAP, Sirion, SOFTRAX, SpotDraft, Stripe, Tacton, Vendavo, Workday, Zilliant, Zoho, and Zuora.
“Enterprises in every industry need to adopt more advanced pricing and revenue models to stay competitive, and traditional systems will not support rapid change and innovation,” said Stephen Hurrell, director at ISG Software Research. “Modern revenue management platforms ensure that urgent business model changes are not held back by outdated processes or technologies.”
Talk about the whole research on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the point of Revenue Lifecycle Management, where Conga earned the highest overall rating, followed by Oracle and BillingPlatform. Not just that, Conga was also named a Leader in seven evaluation categories, whereas Oracle received that designation in six categories, and BillingPlatform achieved the same in five. Salesforce, Zoho and Zuora also were rated Exemplary, with SAP getting named Innovative.
If we focus on Revenue Lifecycle Platforms and their underlying infrastructure, ISG’s report would reveal that Conga received the highest overall rating, followed by BillingPlatform and Oracle, who were rated exemplary. Markedly enough, Conga was deemed a Leader in seven evaluation categories, whereas BillingPlatform and Oracle would achieve the same in five. Apart from that, Salesforce, Zoho and Zuora were also rated as Exemplary.
In regards to Revenue Recognition, BillingPlatform was the highest-rated provider. After that, Oracle and Zuora were named overall leaders and rated Exemplary. Oracle, in particular, was designated a Leader in six evaluation categories, BillingPlatform in five, and Zuora in three. Aria Systems, Conga, NetSuite, Sage, Stripe and Zoho also were rated Exemplary, while SAP was rated Innovative.
Another detail worth a mention relates to Contract Lifecycle Management. Here, again, Conga secured the first place. Closely trailing behind were Docusign and Zoho, with all three rated as Exemplary. To be more specific, Conga was designated a Leader in seven categories, Docusign in five, and Zoho in two. Ironclad and Sirion also were rated Exemplary. Icertis, on the other hand, was rated Innovative.
Then comes the category of Configure, Price, Quote. Continuing its remarkable performance, Conga was again the highest-rated provider, followed by Oracle and PROS. Conga was designated a Leader in a total of seven performance categories, Oracle in six, and PROS in two. Epicor, Salesforce, Zoho and Zuora were rated Exemplary.
Rounding up highlights would be the Billing category, where BillingPlatform earned the highest overall rating, followed by Oracle and Zuora. A closer look would reveal how BillingPlatform and Oracle were designated as Leaders in five performance categories each, whereas Zuora was a Leader in three performance categories. Aria Systems, Certinia, Conga, Salesforce, Stripe and Zoho, on their part, were rated Exemplary.
“Managing revenue lifecycles is important for good customer experience, but it is complicated by underlying software that is too fragmented or specialized to work across sales, operations, revenue and finance teams,” said Mark Smith, partner and chief software analyst at ISG Software Research. “Whether companies are looking for one supplier or a series of applications, these insights guide enterprises to determine what software is the best fit to modernize and reduce the operational costs of revenue lifecycle management.”
